The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords certain rights to students concerning the privacy of, and access to, their education records. Proxy Access is a Banner Self Service solution provided by the college enabling students to give their parents, family members, or other relationships the student deems appropriate, access to view the student's Northeast educational and/or financial record. Proxy account access is exclusively managed by the student. Students have the right at any time to end a proxy’s access to their student information.
A proxy can be any parent or guardian that a student wishes to be able to login the Web Proxy System in order to view the student's data. Before a parent or guardian can login as a proxy, the student must first identify the proxy, the proxy relationship to the student, and indicate which pages the proxy has as access to.
Currently, based on permission from the student, a proxy can access the following:
- Account Summary
- Award Package
- Award History
- Financial Aid Status
- Student Grades
- Student Holds
- Student Detail Schedule (Available Soon)
- Week at a Glance (Available Soon)
Proxy access can be limited to any of the pages listed above. Access can be restricted to certain dates as specified by the student. Access can be revoked at any time by the student.
